A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Dr. Jay Price first found his love of animal care while spending summers on his grandparents’ farm. He received his BS in Zoology at Auburn University, Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and served as President of Alpha Psi veterinary medical fraternity.

In 2014, Dr. Price founded Southern Veterinary Partners, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to forming SVP, Dr. Price owned Oak View Animal Hospital and Patton Chapel Animal Clinic, where his areas of interest included oncology, internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology. His focus these days is leading Mission’s chart-topping growth while prioritizing the autonomy of each hospital.

Jay enjoys spending time with his wife, two boys and fishing. He has provided his veterinary services to numerous animal rescue and adoption organizations and volunteered as a trail guide on the Appalachian Trail with the Blind Veterans Association.

He was named “Young Alumni of the Year” from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, a “Top Tiger” from Auburn University, one of the “Top 40 Under 40” and “Executive of Influence” by the Birmingham Business Journal, as well as a finalist for “Entrepreneur of the Year” from Ernst & Young.
